This wonderful southern hunting pouch and powder horn was found in western Georgia.  It has a Philadelphia school powder horn that has a fantastic carved collar and screw tip and an applied band around the turned plug. The powder horn is 14” around the curve. The butt plug and applied horn band is fastened to the horn using iron pins.

This beautiful hide hunting pouch has a single pouch and extra wide shoulder strap. The hunting pouch is 8 1/2’ x 9” and has an 8” applied flap. The face of the bag appears to be shaved deer skin while the back of the pouch and the strap appear to be bear hide.

This classic set is an outstanding southern style shoulder-slung hunting pouch with shoulder strap was crafted from thick bear skin.

This very early hunting pouch has its original flintlock pick, powder measure, forged knife with pewter inlay on handle in an attached sheath, a corn cob pipe and flintlock priming horn.

The hunting pouch was an essential accoutrement used by frontiersmen to carry ammunition, patches, and powder for their longrifle, tools, and survival supplies while venturing to the frontier and participating in our American wars.

This hunting pouch set, with its 8” flap and superb powder horn, is one of the most beautiful examples of a classic frontier hunting pouch, used with a flintlock longrifle, I have ever encountered. It is pliable and soft to the touch. Great to hang with your flintlock longrifle.
