Excavated Rev War Flintlock

Excavated Rev War Flintlock

Rev War Excavated Flintlock

The lock is mark St Etienne on the lock plate. It was excavated at the site of the Battle of Hampton, VA on October 24, 1775, when the Hampton militia and members of the 2nd Virginia Regiment under Capt. George Nicholas had bolstered their breastworks protecting the town wharf at Hampton, VA. All parts are intake but in excavated condition.  The lock would have been from an early French Musket that could have been used in both the F and I War and the Rev War. Rare Rev War collectible.
