Flintlock Holster Pistol ca 1760-1775

Beautiful relief carved flintlock holster pistol made in the third quarter of the 18th century. This early flintlock was the type treasured by soldiers in America during the Rev War. The hardware is cast brass and is engraved. There are English proof marks on the brass barrel that is octagon to round with fine engraving and the classic ring filing between the octagon and round portions of the barrel.  The lock is engraved and has the name “BART—–” engraved on the lock plate. The wood appears to be cherry. It has a beautiful cast brass lion grip cap. The hardware is nicely created in brass. The shell carving around the tag is outstanding. The flintlock has its original lock plate but has been expertly reconverted. These ornate and early 18th century pistols in great condition are very hard to find.  Beautiful Rev War era flintlock pistol.  16″ overall  10 1/4″ barrel
