Forged Frontier Pole Ax

Forged Frontier Pole Ax

Availability: Out Of Stock

One of the earliest forged frontier pole ax that I have handled. It was found in Rockingham County, VA and probably dates to before the F & I War. Ca 1730 – 1740. This pole ax has great design with pleasing blacksmith repair or perhaps just the way the blacksmith lapped his weld and pinned the lap. The haft has a great look but is not original to the head. If you only have one pole ax in your collection this should be the one. 4 3/4″ tall and 3″ across the blade. 12 1/2″ overall length.
