Rev War Cartridge Box

This is an original Revolutionary War 24 hole, large bore, AMERICAN Militia Waist (possibly strap) Cartridge Box from Albemarle County, VA. The leather flap is stiff but can still be opened. The original finish is crackled from age. The belt loops have long ago disappeared. The box has the original wooden block. Similar boxes are shown in Neumann’s “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution”. These boxes are very hard to come across in any condition.  Great Revolutionary War Accoutrement. Nice leather is hard to fine.
