18th Century Native American Spike Tomahawk
This rare Native American spike tomahawk with forged blade and carved haft descended through the Parson Family, from Parson, West Virginia. Dale Parson related that Capt. When James escaped from a Native American village in Ohio, he carried this forged tomahawk with him back to Virginia where he built a fort at what became known, today, as Parson, West Virginia. Blade: 1” x 5 ¼” – 16 ½”” overall
Provenance: Dale Lee Parsons, Ripley, WV Duke Dingess, Bellington, WV Gordon Barlow, Swoope, Virginia (1989)
