Revolutionary War Breast Plate
Revolutionary War Breast Plate
Revolutionary War Silver Breast Plate excavated from the Siege of Charleston with what appears to be the initials “TM” engraved on the face with a bullet hole above the engraving. These breast plates were worn by the officers of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment. Research found that Captain Thomas Moultrie (1732 – April 24, 1780) (Commander of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment) was the only officer from the 2nd South Carolina Regiment killed at the Siege of Charleston with the initials “TM”.
