Tomahawk
Forged tomahawk from Samuel Bell Family, Augusta County, Virginia, who enlisted as an Ensign in the Augusta County Militia on March 8, 1777. He served under Captains McGuire and Thomas Bell and Col. William Grayson. Was in the battles at Brandywine, Germantown, Guilford, and Hot Water. In last fight was wounded in eight or nine places but continued to the end of the war as a supernumerary officer. Died in Staunton, 1788.
