18th Century Door Knocker
18th century iron door knocker with a beautiful two-layered floral backplate. It is hand forged, chiseled, embossed, and repoussé. It has a natural iron patina. The intricate floral details on two separate hand cut and embossed layers creating the backplate is the work of a master blacksmith. Talmage Selph, Bowling Green, Virginia purchased the knocker from the caretaker of the Scotchtown Planation, Hanover County, Virginia which is the home of Patrick Henry. Dimensions: 5.25 x 5 inches
