Native American Spontoon from Wakatomika (Ohio)
Forged Native American trade spontoon found in Dresden, Ohio. This area was known by Native Americans as Wakatomika in the 18th century. Wakatomika was situated (near modern-day Dresden) along the Muskingum River and was a major Shawnee town until it was burned down by Virginia militia in 1774 during Lord Dunmore’s War.
Nice patina as found (never in the ground). 1.5” x 11.5”
