SKU: N/A
Availability: 1 in stock

An amazing, forged iron female slave effigy with life like facial and body features including breast and hair.

This figurine was purchased from Dr William George, PhD (Tulane University), New Orleans, LA and has a history of being fashioned, after a woman slave named Chleo, by a negro blacksmith owned by Slave Master, Clark Woodruff of Myrtles Plantation in the West Feliciana town of St. Francisville, Louisiana.

The legend is that Woodruff had an affair with his slave, Chleo, then dumped her for another slave woman. When Woodruff caught her ease dropping on his conversation with his new mistress, he cut off Chleo’s ear.
