19th century Powder Horn found by Gordon Barlow in the John Sheets Gunshop, Staunton, Virginia, Virginia when it was being dismantled in the 1970’s to make way for the Henry Funeral Home along the old Parkersburg Turnpike, Staunton, Virginia (present day W. Beverley Street). This Powder Horn has a beautiful turned plug that appears to have been turned from cherry. The turning of of 19th century furniture quality. It is fashioned with a hand turned brass spout with a gunsmith forged spring and has a portion of its original 19th century carry rope. 16″ around the cure.
